Do you know the #1 thing for what every business owner needs to succeed is?
No, it’s not an email list.
No, it’s not a blog.
No, it’s not a Pinterest profile.
No, it’s not live video.
No, it’s not even a course or other digital product.
Can you guess what it is?
What every business owner needs to succeed is a strong, customized STRATEGY for their business.
A great business strategy will be the foundation for building up the rest of your business… because there is no magical social media platform that will suddenly lead to success.
Having an email list or a blog, doing live video regularly, or having a digital product can all be contributing factors to leading to business success.
However, if you don’t actually have a STRATEGY for each one of those, you know what’s going to happen?
The medium you use isn’t what’s going to transform your business. Having a strong strategy that’s customized to your business IS going to be what transforms your business.
For example, I’ve had students come to me with thousands upon thousands of Instagram followers, yet never made a single sale from it—because they didn’t have an actual strategy behind their Instagram account.
It’s not enough to be on a certain social media platform, or to have an email list or a blog, or to do live video, or to have a product for sale. None of that means ANYTHING if you don’t have a strategy in place for leveraging that platform.
You need to have structured goals in mind when it comes to creating your strategy.
Coming up with a strategy for your business is all about identifying who your ideal client is, what services you will and won’t offer, what your vision and goals are for your business, WHY you want to do this at all, the action steps that you’re going to take to achieve said goals… and so much more.
Putting together an awesome strategy for your freelance business will mean that you are able to save a huge amount of time, because you’ll be much more targeted in your marketing. You’ll have a plan of action in place, which means you aren’t going to get paralyzed with feelings of overwhelm. You’ll be able to make real, tangible progress each week and to SEE your business grow over time when you have a strong foundational strategy.

At this point, you might be hoping that I’m going to provide you with a template for how to create your own business + marketing strategies.
NOPE. I’m not going to do that. #Sorrynotsorry
It’s not because I don’t want you to succeed—that’s not it at all! I WANT you to have a successful business. I wouldn’t have this blog full of free resources if that weren’t the case!
The reason why I’m not providing you with a template for how to create your own business strategy is because—wait for it—there is no one-size-fits-all method that will work for every business.
You see, the trick with creating a strong strategy for your business is to ensure that it is a CUSTOMIZED strategy. It needs to be designed for YOU and for YOUR BUSINESS.
Taking someone else’s strategy and using that for your own will never lead you to as much success as you can have if you created your own customized strategy.
Do you know what you need to succeed? Spoiler alert: it’s not an e-course, email list or live video
Here’s the thing: it’s not about the type of marketing that you do or the specific freelance service you offer that will make or break the success of your business.
What matters is that you have all of the systems and strategies in place to set things in motion and follow through on your plans of action.
And that’s where my online programs come into play.
I have worked as a freelance writer, editor, and social media manager for more than 8 years. I have worked with freelancers in dozens of different types of freelance businesses to help them succeed in their work—and that’s because I teach you how to create the right custom strategies and systems for YOU and YOUR business.
I give you all the tools you need to start and grow a successful and profitable freelance business, no matter what type of freelance job you have. My methods work because they aren’t about one particular way of doing things or one particular type of freelance business. Everything I teach is based on the premise that every freelancer and freelance business will have different wants and needs—so it’s about empowering you create customized plans.
There is no one-size-fits-all. Instead, what you need when you are starting and growing your freelance business is direction and guidance, support and encouragement, and actionable lessons and worksheets that will enable you to ask yourself important questions to make real, tangible progress with your business.
I have two options for you if you want help and support as you’re creating your own customized strategy:
Option #1 is to get one-on-one coaching from me through the 12-week Biz Bestie Coaching Program.
In this option, we are going to work TOGETHER to create customized strategies for you!
We’ll meet once a week for a virtual coffee date to chat about your business, struggles, and wins, and to identify actions you need to take for moving forward with your business.
We’ll also check in throughout the week (you get unlimited email support from me) on everything from brainstorming sessions to reviewing your work to providing you with encouragement and positive, constructive feedback and more.
Option #2 is to get group coaching through my 7-week Set Yourself Up For Freelancing Success e-course.
This program includes a pile of worksheets that you can make use of to begin building your own customized strategies (plus lessons, cheat sheets, private community and more), for a fraction of the price that the already-affordable Biz Bestie program is.
Set Yourself Up For Freelancing Success is a wonderful option if you want a series of lessons and action steps to take for your business and to get support from a community of other new freelancers.
There’s no magical thing that will suddenly lead to success. But here’s what can help you get there:
