Productivity framework for solopreneurs: midway recap of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

I’m in the middle of doing the first-ever LIVE version of Productivity Powerhouse, and I thought it’d be fun to do an update on that today! Consider this your inside scoop on how I’m using this productivity framework for solopreneurs in my own life and business — lessons, breakthroughs, struggles, wins, and more!

We’re going to break it down week by week…

But first, quick background about Productivity Powerhouse:

Productivity Powerhouse is my signature productivity online course for solopreneurs to save 10 hours/week and improve work/life balance, using anti-hustle methods and personality-based productivity.

True productivity is rooted in YOU — your brain, your personality, your values, your lifestyle, your goals, etc:

  • What are you willing to discover about yourself?
  • Do you have the courage to redesign your approach to business and life so that it is truly personally fulfilling?
  • Are you prepared to see all that you can accomplish when you have true control over your own time, energy, life, and business?

...These are the questions that Productivity Powerhouse isn't afraid to ask!

This productivity e-course for solopreneurs includes solopreneur success tips, how to achieve home-based business owner time freedom, freelancer productivity tips, how to combat hustle culture, best practice for how to change your mindset and behaviour to be successful, and more:

It’s a 9-part framework (plus a pre-work lesson and post-framework lesson), and you get immediate access to the entire curriculum to go through at your own pace.

This first-ever LIVE version of Productivity Powerhouse is called the “Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience,” and we are going through the curriculum together on a weekly basis!

The Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience features 3 months of weekly live accountability calls; one week for each lesson in the curriculum. So far we’re about halfway through that framework…

…so it’s time for you to get a peek behind the curtain at what’s going on with the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience!

The primary purpose of the Immersive Experience is accountability, so we are not accepting anyone new to join this live version. However, the next live round of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience will be in spring!

You get FREE access to the next round of the Immersive Experience when you enroll in the self-paced version of Productivity Powerhouse — click HERE for details and enroll today.

For confidentiality reasons, I won’t share anything about my clients who are currently doing the Immersive Experience with me.

Instead, I want to use this blog post to share about how it’s going in general, what I’m learning about myself and my business in the process of doing the Productivity Powerhouse framework, and the breakthroughs I’m having.

This is a great way for you to get an idea of what Productivity Powerhouse can do for YOU, too…

Week 0 of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

    What we did:

    • About the Productivity Powerhouse framework & introductions.
    • Intro for how to save 10 hours THIS week.
    • Pre-work lesson: Self Leadership.
    • Self leadership thought processes and exercise.

How this week went for me & what I learned from doing this section of the productivity framework for solopreneurs:

Honestly? I was blown away to discover that within just the first THREE questions of the Self Leadership workbook, I was already having breakthroughs. That’s pretty cool!

I also found it VERY interesting that as I was answering some questions in the Self Leadership workbook, it sparked some things that made me go, “Ooh, there’s a lot to explore in that. I need to do a full coaching session for myself in that one specific area.”

(Self coaching is one of my favourite things to do — it’s very powerful!)

The Self Leadership lesson is pre-work for the rest of the Productivity Powerhouse framework, because it sets the stage for ensuring that you CUSTOMIZE everything you learn in this productivity online course for solopreneurs.

→ Productivity Powerhouse uses anti-hustle methods and personality-based productivity alongside a lifestyle business model, so customization to your unique situation is essential — and self leadership helps create the foundation for you to do that.

In my case, I found that doing the Self Leadership lesson and workbook helped me to see where I need to be more assertively considerate of my own needs, as well as trust in my business to the same degree that I trust in myself.

(Personal development, self improvement, personal growth, and mindset work are all “built in” to the Productivity Powerhouse framework)

Productivity for solopreneurs quote: “True productivity is rooted in YOU… What are you willing to discover about yourself?” Get more productivity tips on the SaganMorrow.com blog!

Week 1 of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

What we did during this week:

    • Overview of Module 1 — Make Your Heart Happy.
    • Step 1 lesson — Identify Your Desires.
    • Learning styles quiz.
    • Lifestyle goals & personal values assessment.
    • Personal productivity style assessment.
    • Strengths & weaknesses assessment.
    • Assessments comparison.

How this week went for me & what I learned from doing this section of the productivity framework for solopreneurs:

This was an interesting week, because very little “new” stuff came up that surprised me — I went through the workbook fairly quickly (even though there were multiple assessments to do).

…However, other solopreneurs doing this live round of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience got a ton out of this week! Further conversation and digging into it reveals THIS:

    1. The more you do this work, the faster and easier it gets. I’ve been doing this for literally years and I’ve spent a lot of time in the past on this step of the framework, in particular, so it makes sense that I wouldn’t have as much “work” to do on it at this point.
    2. Everyone will get something different from each step of the framework. That’s because we are all different human beings, with different brains and personalities and experiences and goals and backgrounds and values. No two people’s experience will be identical — and it’s very cool to see the different things that everyone unearths about themselves and their businesses in the process of doing this work.
    3. Going through the framework itself multiple times reveals new things EVERY time. Some of the people doing the live Immersive Experience have already gone through the entire Productivity Powerhouse curriculum previously, and they are blown away by the new things coming up for them as a result of going through the curriculum again. As for myself, I’ve gone through this framework countless times and STILL uncover new, fascinating discoveries and revelations (at some steps of the framework more than others, as you’ll see below).

Even though not too much “new” stuff came up for me in this particular week, I did have a couple useful realizations about how my learning style had the ILLUSION of changing during the first year of the pandemic, as well as how I’ve recently been neglecting my relationship with organizational methods. This was helpful for getting back on track!

Week 2 of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

What we did during this week in my productivity online course for solopreneurs:

    • Step 2 lesson — Prioritize Your Goals.
    • Got clarity on values, connective threads, and long- and short-term goals.
    • Created entire business plans.
    • Mind mapping as a tool.

How this week went for me & what I learned from doing this section of the productivity framework for solopreneurs:

This was a BIG one: I realized that one of my main connective threads — and a core aspect of my identity that I’ve had for my entire life — was actually more “surface level” than I’d previously believed.

*cue glass shattering sound, light bulb switching on over head, earth rotating on its axis, etc*

It was a complete life-changing moment and helped me to see myself and my business in a whole new way. Very cool!

(FYI: It could have been an extremely frightening and uncomfortable realization, HOWEVER the work that we do in Productivity Powerhouse and the way we approach these experiences is deliberately designed as a safe environment for you to explore discomfort)

Other things that came up for me included clarity around my pricing strategy, vacation/sick day plan, content ecosystem planning, order of operations for updating my business documentation manual, and a shift in the wording I want to use to describe my personal values.

…It was a big week for me 🙂

The last piece I realized was that, after years of doing very in-depth business planning, my business plan for 2025 and beyond gets to be HIGHLY simplified. This is directly related to all the foundational work I’ve done: I no longer need a big elaborate plan. Love that!

Week 3 of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

What we did during this week:

    • Step 3 lesson — Manage Your Energy.
    • Got clarity on energy boosters & detractors.
    • “Recurring problem” assessment for how to manage productivity challenges & struggles.
    • Learned how to take breaks the “right” way (this makes such a difference for overcoming toxic productivity hustle culture!).
    • Burnout assessment.
    • Tracked energy throughout the day/week.
    • Created a burnout management & prevention plan.

How this week went for me & what I learned from doing this section of the productivity framework for solopreneurs:

Energy management is a very important thing I do on a daily basis — it’s one of my non-negotiables, because I have chronic anxiety, insomnia, and nightmares. My energy can be very low!

As a result, I used this step of the Productivity Powerhouse framework to challenge myself. For example:

    1. Got deeper into understanding how some of my “energy detractors” are actually anxiety-related, and identified the specific work I need to do within that.
    2. Used the Recurring Assessment to explore what I can do to overcome some creative blockages I’d recently been experiencing, and how to overcome it.
    3. Did some conceptual work around different types of energy and how that factors into our personalities and productivity styles (something I’ll be experimenting with further before updating in the Productivity Powerhouse curriculum).

Even though energy management is a skill I practice daily, as you can see above, I was able to get some powerful breakthroughs in this step of the framework.

Productivity Powerhouse is designed so that regardless of whether you’re brand-new to productivity (as some people in the program are) or you’re an expert in productivity (as I am), you can still get a LOT from the program… It adapts to you and your needs!

You get immediate, lifetime access to everything in the program so you can go at your own pace and revisit the framework as many times as you want in the future…

…plus you get free access to future live rounds of the Immersive Experience!

Week 4 of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

What we did during this week in my productivity online course for solopreneurs:

    • Overview of Module 2 — Make Your Own Rules.
    • Step 4 lesson — Create Your Strategies.
    • Chose personality-based time management methods (essential if you want to enjoy true home-based business owner time freedom).
    • Mapped out strategy ideas.
    • Chose milestone goals.
    • Learned how to improve time management within just 15 minutes/day.
    • Began time tracking.

How this week went for me & what I learned from doing this section of the productivity framework for solopreneurs:

I’ve been using this live round of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience as preparation for 2025, so for this week, I did a bunch of planning for my 2024 Q4 tasks and put together general timeframes/deadlines (setting me up for a strong start in January).

This week was fantastic for getting very realistic about whether my goals and plans are doable, and exactly how that all fits into the time that’s available to me over the next couple months.

It was also a good opportunity for me to assess and fine-tune my time management methods, as well as to examine any resistance that’s been coming up — I ended up doing a “mini training” on that topic at this week’s live accountability call for the solopreneurs who signed up for this first-ever round of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience.

Midway recap: What I’ve learned so far from this solopreneur productivity e-course

Week 5 of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience

What we did during this week of my productivity online course for solopreneurs:

    • Step 5 lesson — Organize Your Tasks.
    • Learned how to prioritize tasks.
    • Chose personality-based task management methods.
    • Home office, filing system, and email inbox organization.
    • Task list assessment.
    • Mapped out tasks on calendar for the entire next 3 months.

How this week went for me & what I learned from doing this section of the productivity framework for solopreneurs:

Building on what we’d done in the previous week, I updated my Q4 task list with a fine-tooth comb! Every single task that needs to be done before 2025 now has a very specific spot in my calendar (including the all-important buffer time blocked off in case catch-up time is needed).

I also used this week for putting together a new “master spreadsheet” of tasks for life/business that I can use on an ongoing basis every day, week, month, and year — and I updated my wall calendars and a few organizational systems to make them even better than they were before.

Lastly, I reorganized my home office! I love my home office but realized this week that there is (as always) room for improvement… so I moved some furniture, changed the orientation of my desk and computer monitors, and the new organization is now the best it’s ever been. I’m obsessed! It wouldn’t have happened without this step of the Productivity Powerhouse framework.

Overall thoughts about the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience so far…

As you can see above, each week of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience has been delightful and transformative ♥ People who join Productivity Powerhouse consistently say how much it feels like “a breath of fresh air” and “inspired in a way I haven’t been for years” — even as the creator of this program, I’m having that SAME experience (which has been kinda mindblowing in and of itself!).

Breakthroughs (big and small) are happening every week… It’s been inspiring and motivating to do this work.

What I think is REALLY cool is how much I’m getting from the experience — as an expert in productivity! It truly goes to show how much more we can always continue to do to improve productivity and the relationships we have with ourselves and our businesses…

…and it ALSO goes to show just how powerful the Productivity Powerhouse framework is! It can be applied whether you’re brand-new to productivity or whether you’ve been doing this for literally over a decade.

We’re just over halfway through this first-ever LIVE round of going through my productivity framework for solopreneurs, and already a lot of great stuff has come from this experience! I’m looking forward to seeing what else we can uncover as the weeks continue.

I’ll be sure to share an update after we’ve completed this live round of the Productivity Powerhouse Immersive Experience in December.
