Then listen up, because in this video we are going to answer a very important question: Can you be an ambitious solopreneur without hustle culture?

Now let's get into today's video: Is it possible to be ambitious, and have big plans and big goals for your solopreneur business, WITHOUT hustling 24/7?

The short answer is yes, yes it is! You can essentially have it all. You do not need to force yourself into hustling and grinding, working yourself into the ground in order to fulfill your ambitions.

In fact, hustling too hard is actually the antithesis to your ambition, and here's why: Hustling will inevitably lead to getting burned out and getting exhausted.

This means that your quality of work will suffer, you will start missing deadlines, and you're going to get a little bit sloppy in your business as well. Client satisfaction is going to take a turn, you're probably going to have a lot of issues around boundaries and communication problems, and you are also just going to stop enjoying yourself and your business… All of which means you will not accomplish your goals.

In other words, hustling harder is not the answer. It's actually going to make things a lot worse, and it's going to be very problematic for you. It's going to prevent you from achieving your big ambitions as a solopreneur.

Hustling is that idea of just working for the sake of working, punching that time card, clocking in, rather than actually being productive and thinking about, “what am I using my time for? Does this even matter? Is this important work?”

Making that awesome progress on your goals is a very important piece that isn't really addressed in hustle culture. Hustle culture is much more focused on glorifying the fact that we're working, without really thinking about “what is it that we're working on, and does this make sense given what my goals and plans are?”

So with that in mind, what can you do to embrace your ambition and escape toxic hustle culture?

It starts with taking the opposite approach: Embrace anti-hustle methodologies.

Anti hustle methods are truly the secret sauce to successful solopreneurship. It ensures that you are actually achieving your big dreamy goals, your big plans, much faster and with greater ease — while producing higher quality work in less time, without burning out or getting overwhelmed, and while sustaining a healthy work life balance.

Yes — as I said before, it is essentially having it all.

When you focus on resting more and in a way that actually supports you, and when you unravel all of the mindset pieces that can be very insidious (that have tricked you into thinking you need to hustle), and when you incorporate energy management in a strategic sort of fashion, and when you take intentional action towards your goals, everything changes.

My challenge for you over the next couple of days is to start noticing when you're succumbing to hustle culture.

Just start noticing it and start paying attention.

I would actually encourage you to keep a tally: every time that you find that you're just working for the sake of working or feeling like you need to work even though you're not really doing it towards a particular goal, where you're kind of just caught in that hustle mentality of “I need to grind, I need to hustle harder, I need to work more,” every time that happens, mark a little tick, do a tally. how to be an ambitious solopreneur WITHOUT hustling

And after that couple of days, come back here and then share in the comments on this YouTube video: How many times hustle culture seeped into your everyday life and business in all aspects, all aspects of life and in business. How many times did it seep in there?

And then assess, was that hustle mentality actually helpful for you? Did you make good progress on your ambitious goals? Or were you focusing much more on busy tasks that don't actually connect back to your bigger goals and plans?

Every time that you wanted to take a break or take a rest, did you feel guilty about it? Did you stop yourself from resting? That's hustle culture, too.

So definitely do that: Do this little exercise over the next couple of days. See where it sort of seeps in. Keep that tally and then come back here and let me know how many times it comes up, and then do that little assessment: was hustling actually helpful for you or not?
