3 reasons why procrastination does NOT need to be a death sentence in your business:

#1: If you’re procrastinating on one thing, then it’s an opportunity to make progress in other areas, on other projects.

Just because you’re procrastinating on one project or task, doesn’t mean you’ll be procrastinating on EVERY project or task. You can take this procrastination as an opportunity to check off other boxes on your to-do list—after all, there are always a million and one things that we *can* be doing at any given moment, as business owners… So you can work on something else, instead.

If you’re procrastinating in one area, use your time and energy to complete a different task.

Alternatively, you can also use this time to rest & recharge.

Productivity requires self-care and rest—Rest is the foundation of healthy productivity. This is really important: Focus on energy management in your business! If you’re procrastinating, why not take a break? Get outside, sit down, read a book; take a break and set aside some time for yourself to rest and recharge.

#2: Procrastination is information that is telling you something.

If you are procrastinating on something, there is a reason for that… and you can make great use of that information to your advantage. Take a moment and ask, “Why am I procrastinating on this thing, vs something else? Why is THIS the thing I’m stuck on? What’s going on here? What needs to change? What can I do with this information?” 3 reasons why procrastination does not need to be a death sentence in your business

Procrastination is INFORMATION. Use that information.

Really get into analyzing, “What’s going on here and why is this happening?”, and from there, you’ll be able to figure out how to get out of it.

Whenever we’re asking questions about the what and why, it leads to the “how.”

...In other words, understanding underlying reasons for your procrastination problems naturally leads into figuring out your best strategy and action plan with your business.

#3: You can always reframe your procrastination.

Change your approach in your business! Is there a way to have more fun with this task/project? Will colour-coding help, for example? What will make this more interesting and enjoyable and easier, so that procrastination doesn’t get in the way? What is the purpose of this particular task that I’m procrastinating on? How can I focus on the end goal as a motivation to keep me moving forward?

These types of questions are valuable ways to reframe your procrastination and how you approach your business.

You can also change your approach to it by incorporating delegation and automation in addition to gamification—any of these are helpful options.
