perfectionism

The #1 mistake every perfectionist makes…

Are you a perfectionist? There’s a 99% chance that you are making this big mistake… but don’t worry! You’ll learn what the mistake is, PLUS what you can do to fix this mistake, in this article…

Perfectionism is very common for many business owners! I bet you’ve experienced it from time to time. My clients often wrestle with perfectionism when they first come to me. They say things like, “I’m not doing a good enough job… I need to keep working on this project, I need to keep improving it before I share it with the world.” There are so many different ways perfectionism shows up.

There are two main camps that perfectionists tend to be in: either you are proud of being a perfectionist (and you wear your perfectionism like a badge of honour), or else you feel shame and embarrassment about your perfectionism.

The #1 mistake that every perfectionist makes is to not dig beneath the surface of your perfectionism.

Here’s the thing: Perfectionism—just like procrastination—TELLS US something about what’s really going on.

Perfectionism is a symptom of a bigger, deeper root issue that we need to uncover. The biggest mistake that a lot of perfectionists make is that they see perfectionism as a problem that they have, and it’s very disempowering. They see it as something that they simply *are.*

When you identify as a perfectionist, it can be disempowering because it’s tied to your identity—and then you might feel like you can’t do anything about it.

The truth is, if you’re experiencing perfectionism, that’s a sign that you need to dig deeper and understand WHY you’re struggling with this.

→ Why do you feel like your work isn’t good enough?

→ Why do you think you just need to spend more time or energy working on this project?

→ When is it ever going to actually be good enough?

Nothing in life or in business will ever be perfect, and you are already aware of that… so what’s REALLY going on here? Discover the #1 mistake every perfectionist makes (whether you wear your perfectionism as a badge of honour or if you feel ashamed of it)... and what you can do to fix this mistake and overcome your perfectionism struggles, once and for all...

That’s the trick: If you identify as a perfectionist, the #1 thing you need to do is to take that information and DO something about it.

Dig deeper and understand that perfectionism is just a symptom: It doesn’t need to define who you are or what you do. You can get out of the perfectionist cycle. You can get out of that cycle and use this information to your advantage. You can use your perfectionism as a strength when you dig deeper with it.

By the way, this is also why **procrastination** does NOT need to be a death sentence in your business.
